Hot day followed by thunderstorm chances

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – We can definitely say that we had a very hot and humid weekend.

Our Sunday warmed up pretty quick, with highs reaching the mid 90s.

The humidity also remained higher, causing heat index values for many of us around the region to be near 105.

Some areas did have a bit more cloud coverage today, especially up north.

Tonight will be another warm night, with lows around 70.

Northern regions of Siouxland may get an isolated thunderstorm or shower tonight.

Monday will be a little cooler, with highs near 90, and a partly cloudy sky.

Northern regions again could see an isolated thunderstorm during the day.

Monday night thunderstorms and showers will cross most of Siouxland, only the south east corner is looking to be unaffected.

Those thunderstorms move in during the evening and last overnight.

The rest of the week has possibilities of seeing isolated thunderstorms each day.

The highest chances are during the nights, and Friday.

Tuesday and Wednesday will have a high in the mid 80s.

Fourth of July is looking to be partly cloudy, but could also see isolated thunderstorms, with another high in the mid 80s.

Friday’s high will be in the mid 80s.

The weekend highs drop down to the low 80s, with both days having scattered thunderstorms.
