Public meeting set for Thursday on Iowa sports betting rules

(KTIV) – In May, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a bill into law which legalizes sports betting in the state.

The bill allows for betting on professional, collegiate and international sporting events, and makes legal fantasy sports contests and internet fantasy sports betting.

Last month, the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission approved projects for several Iowa casinos including the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Sioux City and Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood.

The commission also posted a set of rules which would govern how sports betting is to be conducted in the state.
