(KTIV) – The 2019 River-Cade is officially underway.
River-Cade runs through July 10-21. This year 24 events will take place over the 11 days.
A full list of events can be found on their website by clicking here.
The River-Cade Parade will start at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17.
Construction in downtown Sioux City this year will create a new route for the parade.
Rather than traveling up Douglas Street, and then down Pierce Street, the parade will start at 3rd and Iowa Streets, and travel west to Pierce Street.
The parade will then turn left onto Pierce Street, and head two blocks south, and end at the Long Lines Family Rec Center.
River-Cade was founded in 1964 as a way to celebrate the “rebirth” of the Missouri River after it was re-channeled for navigation.
