The second best place to retire? Iowa, which ranked well in affordability, wellness, and crime.
Missouri, South Dakota and Florida rounded out the top five.
Maryland was the worst state to retire, according to the survey. The state ranked at the bottom of affordability and crime.
New York, Alaska, Illinois, and Washington round out the worst states to retire.
