Hospers, IA man convicted on sexual abuse charge

ORANGE CITY, Iowa (KTIV) – A Hospers, Iowa, man has been convicted for inappropriately touching a child.

Sixty-four-year-old Michael Montgomery was convicted of second-degree sexual abuse Thursday in Sioux County District Court. He was acquitted of Lascivious Acts with a Child.

His sentencing will be done at a later date.

According to a criminal complaint filed in September of 2018, a child reported Montgomery made sexual contact with them once a month over a two-year period.

According to the county attorney’s office, a police investigation revealed the child disclosed the incident to peers and the child’s mother at least two years before.
