**Excessive Heat Warning for most of Siouxland through Friday evening**

**Heat Advisory for Holt County and northern Siouxland Thursday afternoon & evening**

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Morning storms brought Siouxland damaging winds and heavy rain. Some of the hardest hit areas were to the north of Sioux City where a semi was blown over west of Sioux Center with some trees taken down from southeast South Dakota into Sioux County of Iowa.

Those storms moved on to the east and we cleared out during the afternoon as the heat started to build.

An Excessive Heat Warning is going to stay in effect for much of Siouxland through Friday evening during which time we could see heat index values reaching well over 100 degrees.

The heat should taper off just a bit on Saturday when highs will be in the low 90s and we’ll see a slight chance of a thunderstorm.

Better chances of storms could arrive Saturday night and maybe linger into Sunday morning.

Sunday is going to be feeling a lot better with afternoon highs going into the mid 80s.

That cooler trend is then going to continue with highs in the low 80s both Monday and Tuesday then heading back into the mid 80s by Wednesday.
