UPDATE:

(KTIV) – A Lyon County deputy has died from her injuries suffered in an August 9 single-vehicle accident.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s office says Deputy Stephanie Schreurs, a 24-year veteran, died from her injuries early Tuesday afternoon.

The sheriff’s office says at this time the family is requesting privacy.

A memorial fund has been established in her honor at Security Savings Bank in Larchwood, Iowa.

Funeral arrangements are pending. Details will be released when available.

(KTIV) – On Tuesday authorities identified the Siouxland deputy involved in a single-vehicle accident on August 9.

The Iowa State Patrol and Lyon County Sheriff’s Office says Lyon County Deputy Stephanie Schreurs was the driver involved in the accident.

Authorities say Schreurs was driving a police SUV on K-52 entering a sharp curve to the right.

The SUV left the roadway to the left, entered the ditch, vaulted a private driveway, and rolled.

Officials say Schreurs was flown by air ambulance to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol, and a technical collision investigation is being completed.
