Niobrara Appreciation Days set for August 16 – 17

(KTIV) – With the temporary bridge officially open in Niobrara, the community is inviting Siouxland to celebrate with a major festivity.

Niobrara’a Appreciation Days, also known as Niobrara Hometown Showtown, will run August 16 – 17. Whichever way you say it, there will be a wealth of activities for all ages.

Activities for the two-day event include the following:

Friday, August 16, 2019

  • 6 p.m.: Cruise Night

Saturday, August 17, 2019

  • 7 a.m.: Pave the Way 5K Walk/Run with 1 Mile Kid Fun Run/Walk
  • 8 – 11 a.m.: American Legion Pancake Feed
  • 9 a.m.: Niobrara Alumni Golf Tournament
  • 9 a.m.  – noon: Sidewalk Chalk Contest
  • 1 – 5 p.m.: Flood Slide Show on Loop at WFLA
  • 2 p.m.: Strider Bike Kid Challenge
  • 4 p.m.: Kids Sand Dig
  • 4 p.m.: 2019 Derek “Cheddar” Cornhole Tourney
  • 4 – 5 p.m.: Bingo! at the WFLA Hall
  • 4 – 5:30 p.m.: Free Hot Air Balloon Rides
  • 5 p.m.: Chicken Drop Bingo!
  • 5  – 8 p.m.: Free Will Donation Meal
  • 8 p.m.: Faith United Summer Time Holy Trinity S’mores
  • 8 p.m. – Midnight (overnight): Street Dance with Beer Garden
  • 9 p.m.: Fireworks Show
