An almost fall-like afternoon

Our Wednesday started off on a cool note for this time of year with everyone dropping into the 50s.

With Canadian high pressure in place, we will stay cool as we head through the day with highs only climbing into the mid 70s under partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies.

Clouds will continue to increase as we head through the night; even so, we drop into the mid 50s for lows.

As we head toward the morning hours we may have a storm or two clip western Siouxland.

We will still have a chance of a storm or two during the morning hours west with that chance spreading through the rest of the area as we move into the afternoon and evening hours.

The strongest storms may have large hail and gusty winds.

Highs will return to the 80s Friday with dry conditions during the day and storm chances returning at night.

These chances do look a little more spotty than what we have on Thursday.

The weekend looks mostly dry though a shower or two may develop here and there.

Highs will stay close to average in the low to mid 80s.
