Morningside College unveils new doctoral nursing program

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) – Morningside College is launching its first doctoral program, this fall.

The 30-credit program will be offered online. The new program was made for working nurses looking to advance in their health care career.

Morningside staff says this has been an important goal for them. They hope that by adding this program they can address the demands of health care, and improve patient outcomes. “Like our MSN program, our new DNP program will be offered online allowing flexibility for nurses to continue to work full-time and then also meet their other demands in life,” said Jackie Baker, Dean of Nursing.

The DNP will allow students to end up in leadership positions, and make them all-around experts in nursing. Barber also adds that they are expecting about a half a dozen of students their first year.
