Sources: Hickenlooper expected to end presidential run on Thursday

(NBC News) – We should find out later Thursday if former Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper plans to continue his run for president.

Sources close to the two-term Democratic Governor say Hickenlooper will make his intentions known later on Thursday.

There is talk that the 67-year-old is considering a run for the Republican-held Senate seat in Colorado that is up for election in 2020.

Democrats familiar with Hickenlooper’s planning say they don’t expect him to make an announcement about the Senate run on Thursday.
