SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Three Miss America contestants helped deliver meals to patients, and their families, at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke’s, Wednesday.

Miss Iowa, Miss Nebraska, and Miss South Dakota delivered meals, prepared by Sioux City’s Ronald McDonald House Charities, to young patients and their families.

St. Luke’s is a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, and Miss Iowa, Emily Tinsman, says CMN has a close connection to the Miss America Network.

She says visiting CMN hospitals is one of her favorite things to do.

“A lot of the kids go through much harder things than what most of us have to go through.” said Emily Tinsman, Miss Iowa. “Telling them they’re fighters is really why I’m here.”

They also got a tour of the Pediatrics Department, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St. Luke’s.
