Around Siouxland: Hanover Festival

(KTIV) – This weekend folks get the chance to step back in time and enjoy some polka during the annual Hanover Festival.

The festival is Sunday, August 25, and takes place in the Hanover Historical Village near Alta, Iowa.

From noon to 7 p.m. there will be live polka music and organizers are bringing in “Karl and the Country Dutchmen” for the event.

Organizers for the Hanover Festival say there will also be a wide variety of activities for everyone to enjoy. Including tours of the historic buildings, antique machinery displays, and several demonstrations such as sheep shearing, wood carving and blacksmithing.

The Hanover Historical Village is located 8 miles southwest of Alta, Iowa, at the corner of Highway 27 and County Road 65.
