STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) — Buena Vista will kick off their football season on Thursday night. The Beavers travel to St. Paul, Minnesota, to play Hamline University.

Buena Vista beat the Pipers last season, 39-27. It was the only game the Beavers won, as they finished 1-9. In that game, BV threw for 382 yards and five touchdowns through the air. The Beavers are looking for a similar peformance to get back on the winning track.

“We’re excited to go up there,” said head coach Grant Mollring. “It’s somewhere we haven’t been, on a Thursday night in the Twin Cities. We’ve got some alumni up there that are excited about us coming up. All signs are pointing to a good game for us and we’re ready to go.”

“To be honest, I really feel like we’re going to win,” said senior defensive lineman Gary Weaver. “We’ve always go to come with that mindset, win every game but win one by one. Right now we just have to focus on our detail and after that it will just come together.”

That’s a 6 o’clock kickoff Thursday in St. Paul.
