U.S. Senate Candidate Michael Franken tours Siouxland Community Health Center

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) –  U.S. Senate candidate and Navy Vice Admiral Michael Franken made a stop in Sioux City Wednesday morning.

He toured Siouxland Community Health Center and talked about his health platform.

Franken is one of four Democrats to enter the race for Iowa Senate.

He says his experience in the U.S. Navy and learning about local health facilities like the Siouxland Community Health Center, can be used to implement the best health platform for everyone.

“I would like a comprehensive approach, and to make it affordable, and to make it accessible, and to make it for everybody. As I’m sitting here, I’m seeing people from all walks of life filter in. This is the America of today so it has to be accessible for all Americans,” said Franken.

Franken also says health care has been a pillar for his platform, ever since he returned to his home in Northwest Iowa, after serving in the Navy.
