The USS Sioux City has been ported to avoid damage from Hurricane Dorian

GROTON, Connecticut (KTIV) – The USS Sioux City has been moved from its home port to avoid damage from Hurricane Dorian.

The Littoral Combat Ship 11 has been ported at the Naval Submarine Base New London in Groton, Connecticut.

The USS Sioux City’s home port is located in Mayport, Florida, which could be hit by Hurricane Dorian.

The ship began traveling to Groton on Wednesday, September 4, from Hampton Roads, Virginia, to avoid the storm.,

Along with other naval ships from Mayport, the USS Sioux City will ported at the base in Connecticut until the hurricane passes.
