What’s Cookin’?: The Kings Rum Cake Dessert

Cake Ingredients:

  • 1 Cup Pecans, Chopped
  • 1 pkg. French Vanilla Cake Mix
  • 1 (3 oz) pkg. French Vanilla Instant Pudding
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 Cup of Water
  • 1/2 Cup of Vegetable Oil
  • 1/2 Cup of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum (Note: Can use Rum Flavoring)
  • 1 Teaspoon rum flavoring to 1/2 Cup of Water

Glaze Ingredients:

  • 1/4 lb. Butter
  • 1/4 Cup of Water
  • 1 Cup of Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup of Captain Morgan Spiced Rum

Directions:

  1. Preheat Over to 325 Degrees
  2. Grease and Flour 12-Cup Bundt Pan
  3. Sprinkle Pecans over the Bottom of the Pan
  4. Mix All Cake Ingredients Together
  5. Bake for 1 Hour then Let Cool
  6. Invert on Serving Plate and Poke the Top with Toothpick
  7. Melt Butter in Saucepan
  8. Stir in Water and Sugar, Boil for 5 Minutes
  9. Remove From Heat, Stir in rum
  10. Spoon and Brush Glaze Over the Top of Sides of Cake to Absorb Glaze
  11. Slice Cake Into 1 Inch Slices and Put Onto Serving Dish
  12. Put 1 Tablespoon of Rum Sauce on Top of Sliced Cake
  13. Add Coolwhip on Top, 1 Cherry, and Sprig of Mint
  14. Slice Orange 1/2 Inch Thick Then 1/4 the Orange Slice on Top in Whipped Cream
