SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – Several Sioux City alleyways are more colorful Saturday thanks to the first annual Alley Art Festival.
Downtown Partners hosted the event on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The festival allowed 15 local artists to create murals on the alleyways between Fourth, Fifth, Pierce, and Nebraska Streets.
The event was organized by Vangarde Arts, Gallery 103 artists and Downtown Partners
The murals range in size from 36 square feet to over 144 square feet of painted spaces.
“There’s so much talent in this town, and everyone needs to be validated. People need to come together as a family and do things like this,” said local artist, Kristine Elkjer.
The Alley Art Festival was created to enhance walkability between the Historic 4th and the Historic Pearl districts.
