Dakota Valley HOSA 5K run raises funds for pediatric cancer

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. (KTIV) – Despite the colder weather Saturday morning, many people came out to Adam’s Nature Preserve for a 5K fun run hosted by Dakota Valley HOSA.

All proceeds from the event went towards the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

People of all ages came out to support the cause.

Organizers with the event say it was a good turn out, despite this being a first-time event.

“This is actually the first time we’ve done this, so it’s kind of new for us all. But, it looks like we had a pretty good turn out and hopefully everyone has some fun with the race today,” said Miranda Rittz, Dakota Valley HOSA Adviser.

The top three finishers received medals and gift cards.
