Coyotes’ quarterback named MVFC Player of the Week

VERMILLION, South Dakota (KTIV) –  South Dakota senior quarterback Austin Simmons has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference Offensive Player of the Week

The Coyotes took on Indiana State Saturday when Simmons ran nine times for a career-high 138 yards.

He also leads the Valley and ranks eighth nationally in total offense at 333 yards per game.

he senior has accounted for 13 touchdowns in five games.

“It’s kind of been our team’s motto, it’s like no excuses when. So I think that type of mentality is what we need to bring to the table each and every week,” said South Dakota Quarterback, Austin Simmons.

South Dakota continues play this weekend against the Missouri State Bears.
