The front we have been talking about for days has arrived and has brought with it some showers and even a few thunderstorms this morning.
Temperatures have already started dropping in western and central Siouxland and will do so for the rest of us this afternoon as the front makes its way eastward.
Winds will be gusty behind the front with gusts over 40 mph possible.
Showers will be with us much of the day with some snow mixing in west of Highway 81 this afternoon.
Most of the precipitation falls during the day as rain but there may be a light mix of drizzle, freezing drizzle and flurries tonight into the morning hours.
Impacts should be minimal with ground temperatures warm but a slick spot or two is possible, mainly west.
A freeze is possible tonight with temperatures possibly dipping below 32 degrees so bring in any plants you plan to keep!
We stay cold through the weekend with highs in the 30s Friday and 40s Saturday and Sunday.
Winds will also be staying strong.
