SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Nebraska (KTIV) – The South Sioux City Public Library Director says libraries have changed significantly over the years, including those here in Siouxland.
Dave Mixdorf adds, now, libraries are more like community centers.
Residents can visit the library for community information, a variety of programs, and even to get information about how to enroll children for school.
And libraries don’t just carry books anymore, they also have DVD’s, and CD’s available for people to check out.
“Now it’s changed to where libraries are not necessarily are quiet anymore, after 3 o’clock in the afternoon we can have between 100 and 150 people in the library,” said Dave Mixdorf, Director of South Sioux City Library.
Mixdorf adds, although the library has made many changes, one thing that hasn’t changed is the safe and warm environment the library provides.
