Sioux City murder case gets new trial date

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – For the sixth time a Dakota City, Nebraska, woman charged with first-degree murder is getting a new trial date.

Melissa Camargo-Flores is charged with the murder of 24-year-old Kenia Alvarez-Flores of Sioux City.

According to court documents, Camargo-Flores’ jury trial was scheduled for October 22 but is now set for March 3, 2020.

On April 8, 2018, witnesses say they saw Camargo-Flores stab Alvarez-Flores multiple times outside a West 14th Street residence.

Later, Camargo-Flores was found in the area of 16th and Doublas Street with bloody gloves and a bloody knife.

According to court documents, in a post-Miranda interview, she admitted to stabbing Alvarez-Flores.
