Lamb’s 49 points lead Briar Cliff to double overtime win

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) — Jackson Lamb and Ethan Freidel combined to score 81 points as Briar Cliff won their season opener, 116-112, in double overtime over Graceland on Tuesday night.

Lamb had ten three-pointers and had a career-high 49 points. The senior averaged 15 points per game last season and make the All-GPAC team. Lamb made 15 of his 23 shots from the field, sinking 10 of 16 three-point tries. Freidel added seven three’s and was 10-for-20 from the field.

Virgil Walker, Jr., had 26 points to lead Graceland, who fell to 0-2.

Briar Cliff led 47-46 at the half. The game was tied at 85 at the end of regulation and at 97-97 after the first overtime.

The Chargers, who were picked to finish fifth in the GPAC in the coaches preseason poll, will visit #22 Bellevue on Friday at 5:00 PM.
