What’s Cookin’?: Scarecrow Cake
Scarecrow cake
- Ingredients:
- 1 box of your favorite cake mix
- 1 container of vanilla frosting
- 1 Tbsp. chocolate-flavored syrup
- 1 box (4 oz.) of waffle ice cream bowls
- 1 box (4.5 oz.) of chewy fruit snack rolls
- Directions:
- Prepare cake according to instructions bake in a bundt cake pan. Let cool.
- Place cake on a serving plate. Stir together the frosting and chocolate syrup. Reserve 1/4 cup of the frosting.
- Spread remaining frosting over the cake.
- For straw hat, place 1 waffle bowl upside down in the center of the cake. Stack 5 more on top.
- For the hair, cut fruit snacks into 14 (6 inch) strips and 14 (5 inch) strips.
- Press one 6-inch and one 5 inch strip together.
- Repeat with remaining strips.
- Randomly press pairs of the strips over top 2/3 of cake, overlapping if necessary.
- Place remaining frosting on the cake on the top.
- For the brim, break remaining waffle bowls into 5 or 6 pieces each.
- Randomly press pieces on top of the cake, creating a hat.
- Cut remaining pieces of fruit snacks for eyes and nose. Keep in the refrigerator until use.
Monster Mash Party Mix
- Ingredients:
- 10 cups of popped popcorn
- 1 (16 oz.) bag of M&M’s
- 1 (14 oz.) jar of dry-roasted peanuts
- 1 cup of Reese’s Pieces
- Directions:
- Mix together. Makes 15 cups
