SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KTIV) – Veterans were honored Friday at Girls Inc. for the 3rd Annual Veterans Day Ceremony.

The ceremony hosted by the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps was held at Girls Inc. Friday morning.

Veterans were invited for coffee and they were honored with an “Armed Forces Salute”, and remembrance for both fallen and alive heroes.

One of the AFJROTC members says it’s important to show the veterans that they are appreciated.

“It’s very important because these veterans give us a lot, there lives, their families give us a lot, and I think it’s really important to honor them and show them that we really appreciate the things they have done and we want to show them in that, we try to do that during this ceremony,”said Lt. Col. Emma Kerr, Core Commander IA-20151

On Saturday the cadets will be performing their 4th annual 12-hour vigil at the Sergeant Floyd Monument starting at 6:00 a.m.
