Hundreds of Siouxlanders made their way to local stores for Black Friday

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – The Thanksgiving Day feast is over and the hunt for bargains is on at the busiest shopping day of the year, Black Friday.

Although many stores opened their doors Thursday night, and online for some deals, Siouxlanders still made their way to local stores.

Some of the best deals weren’t available until Friday in-store only as official Black Friday Door-busters.

First-timers say they were surprised by the deals they found, and by how many people were out shopping.

“My friends asked me if I wanted to come out with them and I haven’t done it before so I thought it would be a fun, new experience to come out,” said Jordan Trover, Black Friday Shopper.

A shopper that says he has been out since 4:30 Friday morning, says he is pleased with this year’s deals.

“You know it’s actually been very calm than in the past couple years, everyone’s organized, people are surprisingly friendly, and everyone is ready to get all sorts of fun deals for the holidays,” said Michael Leonard, Black Friday Shopper.

There are two more major shopping days coming up, Saturday is Small Business Saturday, and Monday is Cyber Monday.

An estimated 165 million people are expected to shop online and in-store beginning yesterday and running through Cyber Monday.
