SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - On Tuesday night, Iowa Senate Democratic candidate Admiral Michael Franken made a stop in Sioux City.

Franken took part in the "Drinking Liberally" event at Buffalo Alice.

He is one of four Democrats running for Iowa Senate.

Attendees were able to sit down, enjoy a beer with Franken and discuss questions they had.

Franken touched on topics including health care and Iran.

"I fear that the strike on Major General Soleimani, a guy that I have been aware for well over 20 years, 25 years, will not make us safer. There is no such thing as killing one individual, and then suddenly making us safer," said Admiral Michael Franken.

Franken says what differentiates him from the other Democrats is his experience working with officials in different parts of the country, including Iowa, Minnesota, Texas, and Washington, D.C.
