SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- Today marks day two of Celebrate Catholic Schools Week, and Heelan students were able to kick-off their school week with pancakes.

For the second year during Catholic Schools Week faculty at Heelan High School served up pancakes.

The students were able to get a couple of pancakes, and either juice or milk to wash them down.

Students say that this week is about celebrating the opportunities they have attending a private school, and the personal connections they make with other students and faculty.

"We have real relationships with our teachers, our students, and our faculty members and we really get a personal connection," said Eric Lohr, Heelan Senior.

Celebrate Catholic Schools Week continues Tuesday with an all Bishop Heelan Schools mass, which will be the first time they've had a gym able to fit every student in the whole system from elementary through high school.
