Jaci Hermstad receives eleventh treatment of potentially lifesaving drug

Minneapolis, Minnesota (KTIV) -- A Spencer, Iowa woman, who is battling a rare from of ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease, is in Minneapolis, Minnesota, for her eleventh infusion of the drug that could save her life.

Lori Hermstad, Jaci Hermstad's mother, says Valentine's Day marks one year since Jaci's ALS diagnosis and nine years since her twin sister, Alex, passed away after battling the disease.

She adds, her daughter is not yet out of the woods, but the family continues to pray for a miracle.

The Hermstad family is learning 22-year-old twin brothers will be infused with the same drug being used to treat Jaci.
