SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - An Iowa non-profit organization has designated nine properties across Iowa as the "Most Endangered Properties", including one home in Sioux City.
Preservation Iowa's -- Most Endangered Property Program started nearly 25 years ago.
The program educates Iowans about historic buildings that are slowly deteriorating to try to save the building.
This year "Albertson's Home", a house located on Country Club Boulevard was on the list of endangered properties.
The prairie school style home was built in 1927.
It's currently red-tagged and has been empty for nearly a decade.
Sally Paterni says it's tough to see the home she lived in for more than 25 years in such terrible condition.
"It just breaks my heart, absolutely breaks my heart, this is a fabulous home, it is so unique in so many ways," said Paterni.
Paterni says she hopes someone will purchase the home, fix it up, and love it and cherish it as much as she did.
