Sioux Center, Iowa (KTIV) -- Leaders in Sioux Center, Iowa, receive a major donation for the construction of a new fire station.

The Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation, the charitable arm of Perdue Farms, awarded a $100,000 grant to the city, to help with building the new Station No. 2, for its volunteer fire department.

The $1.3 million project will provide the city with a new 7,200 square foot, four-bay structure for the department's 40 volunteers.

The new fire station will include space for a museum, to house a vintage fire truck and equipment.

Ground likely will be broken sometime this summer, with completion scheduled for Spring 2021.
