SHELDON, Iowa (KTIV) - Next week residents in Sheldon, Iowa, will get the chance to meet the finalists for the job as the city's police chief

Next week residents in Sheldon will get the chance to meet the finalists for the job as the city's police chief.

In November, David Dykstra took over as interim chief after the retirement of Lyle Bolkema.

The Sheldon Police Department currently has five full-time officers along with a pair of reservists.

On Feb. 21 an open house will be held from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at 316 9th Street for the public to meet the finalists.

The following day city officials will hold closed session interviews with the finals.

The names of the finalists will be released this coming Monday.
