**Wind Chill Warning for Emmet and Palo Alto Counties from 9 PM tonight through 10 AM Friday**

This morning was our coldest of the winter so far with lows anywhere dipping as low as -18 and wind chills starting to approach -50 in northeastern Siouxland!

We have seen some improvement on our winds which has helped wind chills a bit but it will remain very cold for the rest of the day.

Temperatures look to only reach the single digits above zero with wind chills stuck below zero despite plenty of sunshine.

Clear skies stick around through the night and temperatures will begin to plummet this evening but start to stabilize as we start to kick in southerly flow.

Lows will be near zero with wind chills in the -10 to -20 range for most of the area with wind chills closer to -30 in far eastern Siouxland.

Those winds will pick up and help to boost highs back to near the freezing mark for our Friday.

With the blustery winds gusting up to 40 mph, it won't feel quite that warm with wind chills generally in the teens.

Still, that is definitely an improvement!

We hover near the 40 degree mark through the weekend with mostly cloudy skies and calmer winds.

A brief round of light rain and snow will be possible on Monday but we otherwise are looking at a pretty dry forecast.
