Cold start, blustery afternoon for Valentine’s Day

Remaining Ad Time Ad - 00:00

**Wind Advisory for almost all of Siouxland through this evening**

The morning has been a little better than yesterday morning but still pretty frigid with wind chills in northwest Iowa ranging from 15 to 30 degrees below zero.

Southerly winds have kicked into high gear this morning; they will be bringing much warmer air into the area.

The winds will be blustery with gusts up to 45 mph through the afternoon hours.

Highs will sit near the freezing mark with wind chills closer to the teens and low 20s for much of the area.

Winds will gradually die down tonight with clouds increasing through the evening hours.

That will add up to a much warmer night with lows in the 20s and wind chill staying above zero.

The weekend looks mild and pretty pleasant with highs near 40, partly cloudy skies and lighter winds.

Sunday night a system will bring us a chance for light rain and snow which will carry over into our Monday.

Any amounts look pretty low at this point.

Temperatures will cool down again in the middle of next week though it will not be near the level of cold that we have seen over the past few days.
