SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- Two separate groups in Siouxland have been raising a good amount of money for local non-profits for the last few years.
They are the 100+ Men Who Care: Siouxland Chapter, and the 100+ Women Who Care: Siouxland Chapter.
The two are part of a national organization that works to raise money for non-profits, but without having big events like fundraisers and auctions.
This is how it works. The two groups hold meetings where local non-profit organizations are chosen by a general vote. Whichever organizations get the most votes, everyone at the meeting writes a $100 check for said organization.
With over 100 members the checks are often around $10,000.
Anybody can check on the groups' Facebook pages to see when their next meetings are. Those interested can send a group a message and get on their list.
The women have their next meeting on April 1 while the men have one on Feb. 27. Those .
In the last four years, the two groups have raised over $270,000.
