2020 Half-Time show complaints

MIAMI, Florida (KTIV) -- This year's Superbowl halftime show from Shakira and Jennifer Lopez drew many angry and offended reactions.

Outraged viewers from all over the nation shared those reactions with the Federal Communications Commission after the halftime show, condemning the sexual nature of the performance.

1,312 total complaints were submitted, with 11 coming from across Iowa.

Many of the complaints highlighted the content as non family-friendly and graphic, some calling it "pornography."

"Please, please, please stop the pornography!!" one complaint read. "My entire family was repulsed and had to turn off the television during the Super Bow halftime show. This is to be a fun family event!!!!"

"I do not subscribe to The Playboy Channel, we do not buy porn for $20 a flick, we simply wanted to sit down as a family and watch the Super Bowl. God forbid we expected to watch football and a quick concert but instead had our eyes molested."

Complaint from Tennessee

Another complaint from West Virginia read:

"That show was a disgrace to all that was moral, my family was watching, kids were watching. This is a disgrace to everyone who built this country before us. What a shame that our morals are being sold for profit."

For comparison, Maroon 5's halftime show performance last year in which Adam Levine revealed his chest, received 94 complaints, according to NBC News and Deadspin.

According to WFAA, the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show with Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction drew 540,000 complaints.
