South Dakota reports 1 new COVID-19 death, 781 active cases

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota health officials are reporting one new COVID-19 death, bringing the statewide death toll to 84.

On Wednesday, health officials confirmed 66 new positive COVID-19 cases. Thus far there have been 6,419 positive cases in South Dakota.

The Wednesday update showed that the number of active cases rose from 773 to 781 while the number of hospitalizations fell by four, to 81.

Officials say 5,554 people have recovered from COVID-19, an increase of 57 since Tuesday.
