Polls open for Woodbury County Board of Supervisors special election

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- The polls are now open in Woodbury County where voters are electing a new member to the county's board of supervisors.

Tuesday's special election is to fill the seat left vacant by Jeremy Taylor, who moved out of the district he represented.

On the ballot are Democrat Tim Kacena And Republican Justin Wright.

Kacena is a former state representative in the Iowa Legislature while Wright is an alternative education teacher at North High School.

There are seven polling sites--four in Sioux City and one each in Sergeant Bluff, Moville and Oto:

  • Clark Elementary
  • Riverside Elementary
  • Long Lines Family Rec Center
  • Nodland Elementary
  • Sergeant Bluff/Luton High School
  • Moville Community Center
  • Oto City Hall

Polls are open until 9 p.m.
