Thunderstorms this morning have brought heavy rainfall with them causing some flooding in the Sioux City area.
Over two inches falling in Sioux City in just a 45 minute time period this morning!
Five inches of rain were reported four miles southwest of Correctionville from the morning rain.
Scattered thunderstorms remain in our Iowa counties through the afternoon as the front slowly drifts eastward.
The chance for strong storms is better to our east in central and eastern Iowa but there still could be a storm or two that has strong gusts and a little hail east of Interstate 29.
Temperatures will be a little cooler today with highs generally in the mid 80s, with areas getting more sunshine in the west a little warmer.
Tonight will be mostly quiet though there is a slight chance that a storm sneaks into our western counties.
Friday will be mostly sunny with seasonal conditions as we top out near 90 with a bit of humidity. By Friday night, another round of strong storms looks to move through the area with strong wind gusts being the biggest threat.
