July 29: Six new deaths of COVID-19 reported in South Dakota

(KTIV) - Six more deaths are being reported in the state of South Dakota due to COVID-19, this according to the state's Department of Health's website.

The increase in deaths brings the state total to 129.

On Wednesday the department also announced 149 new positive cases. This brings the total positive cases since the pandemic began to 8,641.

According to the Department of Health, the daily update of cases includes cases reported to the department between Monday at 1 p.m. and Tuesday at 7 p.m. due to a delay in the daily data extraction.

According to the department, 7,609 people have recovered from the virus. Forty-six people remain hospitalized.
