(KTIV) - The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting on Saturday morning the state's total cases of COVID-19 is nearing 45,000.
Five-hundred-and-one new cases of the virus have been reported compared to figures from 9:30 a.m. Friday to the same time frame on Saturday. That brings the state total since the pandemic began to 44,937.
Seven more deaths are also being reported on Saturday morning, bringing the state total to 872.
Two-hundred-forty-two people remain in the hospital due to the virus, this is up by 14 compared to figures from Friday morning. Six more patients have been admitted to the ICU in the state, up six from Friday.
Since the pandemic began, 480,423 people have been tested for the virus.
