SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- The Salvation Army of Siouxland is kicking-off its annual campaign early this year, and is in need of volunteers more than ever.
The Red Kettle Campaign kicked off on Monday for online donations.
This year their goal for the entire campaign including online and the bell ringing is $300,000 which makes up over half of the Salvation Army of Siouxlands yearly budget.
Captain Chris Clark says the need for volunteers is more important than ever.
At the beginning of the COVID pandemic, we were seeing a 500% increase of the amount of people coming to us for various services, and we're still seeing about 150% about as many people as last year," said Captain Clark.
The Bell Ringing portion of the campaign will begin on Nov. 13.
