SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -- Siouxlander's and their furry four legged friends hit the pavement at Riverside Park Saturday for the Siouxland Humane Society's 18th annual Pets on Parade.
The pledged 5K run or one-mile fun walk helps raise awareness and funds for homeless, abused and neglected animals.
Pets could participate in the walk or run with their owners and then hang out for prizes, vendors and a silent auction at Riverside Park.
Missie Fischer, Director of Development says she loves seeing the community come out in support.
"This is one of our few events where you can actually bring animals. So, it's nice to see the wide variety of animals. They can walk or run with the animals, take them around to the different vendors and things. It's a family fun event that we have as well. So, it's really exciting to just see how much people enjoy seeing the other animals, because that's what we're all about," said Fischer.
Fischer adds she's thankful to everyone who helped make Pets on Parade possible.
