Clay County, SD offering mobile command trailer for absentee in-person voting

CLAY COUNTY, South Dakota (KTIV) - The Clay County Courthouse in South Dakota is offering in-person absentee voting a little differently this year.
Voters can visit the mobile command trailer that's parked in the Clay County Courthouse parking lot to cast their ballot.
Clay County Auditor Carri Crum says a photo ID is still required in order to get a ballot.
She says they are using the trailer because of limited space in the auditors office, and for COVID-19 safety reasons.
Crum says only one voter is allowed to be inside at a time, and it is sanitized after every use.
"We are getting good use out of that, as many mail out ballots as we've had, we've had a lot fo people still voting in-person absentee as well, so it has been really nice," said Carri Crum, Clay County Auditor.
For those who cannot safely navigate the trailers stairs, there is also the option to cast their ballot in their vehicle.
