SIOUX CENTER, Iowa (KTIV) -- Dordt University has seen a turnaround in women's basketball over the last three years. A big part of that is senior Erika Feenstra. Last week, Feenstra became Dordt's all-time leading scorer and she's this week's SportsFource Champion.
With a three-pointer against St. Mary last Wednesday, Feenstra improved her career total to 1,738 points, the most in Defender history. But she's not just a scorer. Feenstra also has nearly 700 career rebounds and has made 55 percent of her shots from the field in her career.
She's been named to the GPAC first team each of the last two years and has been a second and third-team NAIA All-American. All that after winning a high school state title at Western Christian in 2017.
Feenstra scored 343 points during her freshman year. She followed that with a school-record 680 points her sophomore season. Feenstra had 562 points last season. She is second on the team this season with 212 points and has nine regular season games left.
The Defenders, who have won eight of their last nine games, will host Jamestown on Thursday.
