One more quiet day before strong winds, precipitation arrive tonight

**High Wind Watch for western Siouxland after midnight tonight through Friday afternoon**

**Winter Storm Watch for Dickinson County from Thursday afternoon through Friday afternoon**

Yesterday was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine and highs reaching the upper 40s to low 50s.

Expect similar temperatures today with a little more cloud cover.

Winds will stay light at 5 to 10 miles per hour.

Overall, it will be another pretty nice January day!

Enjoy it while it is here because a strong cold front will bring big changes starting tonight.

After midnight a light rain and snow mix looks to develop and that will be with us into the morning hours Thursday.

Amounts look light with the bigger problem being very strong winds gusting up to, and possibly exceeding, 60 miles per hour.

The afternoon looks mostly dry before a round of snow showers pushes in Thursday night through the day Friday.

Accumulations end up in the 1-2 inch range near Sioux City with a few inches more possible as you move north and east.

That snow combining with winds still gusting over 50 miles per hour mean that visibility will be low and travel will become difficult, especially in those areas with more snow falling.
