Okoboji, Iowa (KUOO Radio) - Professional snowmobile racers from across the country will converge on the Iowa great lakes.
The "Cor Power Sports Okoboji 100" will be held Saturday January 23rd and Sunday January 24th, on a 10 mile course on East Lake Okoboji.
A Spencer man and a racer himself, Mitch Sebastian, says it's something people of all ages will enjoy seeing. "They'll plow the track so it will be, you know, full blown right down to the ice, ice racing, and there's going to be the pro riders from all the manufacturers: Arctic Cat, Ski Doo, they'll have their semis, you know, coming into town and it will be, you know, some of the best cross country riders in the country. They can come on down and they'll have everything, you know, roped off to keep people off the course, obviously, but you can, you know, walk around the lake and find a particular spot where you want to sit and watch. And yeah, like you said, there will be classes for everybody all the way down to your, you know, junior riders all the way up to the, you know, to pro guys, so."
Participants will be competing for thousands of dollars in prizes.
The races will be headquartered at Parks Marina, which will also serve as the start and finish line.
