Sioux City schools report no new COVID-19 cases among staff or students

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Sioux City Community School District has released its weekly report, and this week they're reporting no new COVID-19 case in local schools.

According to the district, there were no reports of positive COVID-19 cases from students and staff that attended school between Jan. 18 and Jan. 22. This is the first report the district has sent out with no new COVID-19 cases since they started providing updates week-to-week.

Last week, the district reported only one case of the virus, and it was among staff.

During the week of Jan. 18, no classes were moved to emergency response virtual learning.

The district returned from winter break in hybrid learning, which allows half of the students to attend on Monday and Thursday, with the other half of students attending on Tuesday and Friday.

The district returned to on-site Learning on Monday. The following data reflects the daily attendance of all students and staff. On Wednesday, January 20, there was no school for students due to the scheduled teacher workday.
