**Winter Weather Advisory for northern Siouxland from Saturday morning through Saturday evening**
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - More clouds were moving in today and a few flurries even flew in portions of the area.
Those clouds will continue to thicken tonight and then a weather system will move into Siouxland during the day on Saturday.
While we could see light snow showers during the morning hours, it’s looking like the more steady snow will be developing by Saturday afternoon and moving out of Siouxland shortly after midnight.
During that time, the heaviest of snow is expected in the northern parts of the KTIV viewing area where a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for much of Saturday for 2 to 4 inches of snow with maybe even a little more than that as you approach the Minnesota border where up to 5 or 6 inches is not out of the question.
Sioux City will likely see 1 to 2 inches of accumulation while western Siouxland will probably see less than an inch.
Southern Siouxland could see some light freezing rain mix in with the snow on Saturday afternoon but it’s looking like only a few hundredths of ice accumulation at most.
Highs on Saturday will be in the upper 20s.
The snow will move east of Siouxland shortly after midnight Saturday night then Sunday will be looking mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 20s.
We'll keep you updated on the very latest with this weather system through the weekend on KTIV News 4.
